Makeshift Twitter/Facebook Update:

E has stopped crying for only the second time since the news broke. Her hangover has magically disappeared. She has been unable to draw her apathetic Irish roommate into her ecstatic jubilation but cannot be brought down.

She is just one of many displaced Americans out there in the world today, overjoyed but alone. She wonders if there are any election parties going on tonight that wouldn’t mind having one more sobbing-but-smiling guest.

Yeah, I can finally sleep again. You can bet you’d be invited if I was having a party. Today, everyone is American!

(And hey, how lucky that in this country 「先生、遅れてすみません。友達と遊んで, 飲みすぎてしまってんです。」 is a totally valid excuse for being late to class!)

You would have been more than welcome at our party here in Detroit! My throat is so sore from screaming that I can’t even talk!

Happy days my friend… happy happy days!

as a wise woman once said, what a feeling!!!!! 😉

it’s been so overwhelming and amazing. i cried my eyes out that night too, and i’ve pretty much been on the brink of tears ever since. hope, joy, surprise, faith, relief, and pride are the recurring emotions.

wish you were here! see you next month!
